The Private Waterfront
A magical setting and undoubtedly Kalkan’s finest Beach Club. Built into the rocks are a series of wooden platforms, where teak loungers, billowing parasols and hammocks beckon you to while away the hours by the seashore.
It’s always possible to find a quiet corner and a section of the beach Club is reserved solely for hotel guests. Shade is provided by a mix of fragrant lime, fig and frangipani trees and it’s literally a stepping stone into the inky-blue waters.
The swimming here is fit for Neptune as the water on this side of the Bay is freshened by underground springs and contains little salt. Dive off the wooden platforms, snorkel around the water’s edge or swim the short distance to the sea platform to enjoy the view back over to the hillside hotel.
A wide range of water sports is available including water-skiing, jet-skiing, wake-boarding and sea-kayaking – which to preserve the tranquillity of the beach club take place in a separate cove away from the main hotel. Simply call up a local company who will pop over in a motor boat and whisk you away to a separate bay where you can ramp up the engine to your heart’s delight.
The waterside restaurant provides refreshments throughout the day and it’s also possible to enjoy a Balinese massage in a cave to the sound of lapping waves. Or why not hop onto a motor boat to check out the glorious white sands of Kaputas Beach and the Blue Cave.
