Fairlight Jones’ Exclusive Gulet Cruising

The perfect way to explore the stunning coastline in a manner available to only the few, swimming in pristine inlets and discovering remote bays all in complete luxury.
  • A gulet cruise is a traditional (and undoubtedly the best) way of exploring the Turkish Mediterranean. It provides a reverse angle on the stunning coastline and looking back to shore you can truly appreciate the vista of thick pine forest dripping down to meet inky blue sea.  What’s more, guests experience the rare opportunity to swim in pristine inlets and discover remote bays that few normally get to see.

Gulets are moored throughout the Lycian coast and Fairlight Jones' Seyhan Hanna – one of Turkey’s most well-renowned gulets - is available exclusively to our guests to charter throughout the summer, operating on several different routes.  A private gulet charter is a bucket-list experience for many and is ideal for a party of friends or families sharing, for special birthdays and other celebrations.  An experienced captain, chef and crew oversee day-to-day operations – guests simply have to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

  • Life onboard is spent meandering between bays, stopping off for solitary swims and languid lunches enjoying the fresh sea air and the finest of seascapes. Often the boat will have an entire cove all to itself.  The ambience is very relaxed – shoes are off and there is no need to dress for dinner. The boat comes alive at nightfall, moored up in a remote harbour or bay and illuminated with an array of twinkly lights as you dine under the stars.

The spacious teak decks provide seemingly endless space to relax and unwind and those wishing to can try their hand at the helm.  While some time will be spent under sail this is for fun and, shall we say, aesthetic purposes, rather than to add speed or distance, as gulets are primarily designed to cruise. For the more active, there is windsurfing, sea-kayaking, fishing, snorkelling and water-skiing, plus visits to local villages, markets and historical sites on route.

  • Every cruise is fully catered with fresh, traditional Turkish food starting with a selection of brightly coloured mezes, followed by a fish or meat and vegetable main course, and then deliciously succulent fruit or a desert.  There is a complimentary, open bar throughout the cruise and a chance to sample the wonderful Turkish wine, which is surprisingly good – they simply don’t make enough of it to export!

Our luxurious gulet, Seyhan Hanna, is a sleek and modern take on the original flat bottom, twin-mast boat.  At 39 metres she is far larger than a standard gulet and has just six spacious, ‘hotel-style’ cabins and is equipped with all mod cons from internet access to air conditioning and surround-sound, plasma TV.
